🇹🇭 Thailand Market Access

Thailand NBTC Certification

NBTC governs all wireless products; TISI covers mains-powered items on the mandatory list. Thailand is the #2 Southeast Asia market for Chinese electronics — and it needs a local agent.

NBTC Wireless Certification

Any product with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, ZigBee or other wireless transmission must obtain NBTC approval. This covers virtually all consumer wireless devices.

Applicable standards

Based on ETSI EN 300 328 (2.4 GHz), EN 301 893 (5 GHz), with Thai national deviations

Timeline

3-6 weeks

Marking

NBTC logo + NTC ID number. Thai or English label acceptable

Good news: NBTC accepts FCC or CE test reports for transfer. Existing FCC/CE reports can significantly shorten the NBTC process — in most cases only Thai national deviation tests need to be added.

TISI Safety Certification

TISI is Thailand's mandatory safety certification, similar to China's CCC. It applies only to mains-powered products on the mandatory list — not to DC low-voltage devices.

FAQ

Does NBTC accept FCC/CE report transfer?
Yes. NBTC accepts FCC Part 15C or CE-RED EN 300 328 test reports as a basis. Usually only a few Thai national deviation tests are needed. This saves 40-60% of time versus a full test.
Does TISI require a factory inspection?
Yes. TISI includes an initial factory inspection and annual follow-up visits by Thai officials. DC low-voltage devices (e.g. Bluetooth earphones charged directly via USB with no built-in adapter) are usually exempt.
Do labels need to be in Thai?
Labels can be in English, but manuals should be in Thai. The NBTC logo and NTC ID must be clearly visible. TISI-covered products must also show the TISI mark.
Can I sell in Thailand with an existing CE certificate?
No. Thailand is not in the EU, so CE is invalid there. Wireless products must obtain NBTC approval separately. However, existing CE test reports can be used for NBTC transfer, saving test time.
