China CCC / SRRC / CTA Certification Services

CCC compulsory product certification · SRRC type approval · CTA network access licence · China RoHS · Energy label · Lithium battery CCC — covering compliance needs across the full range of product categories sold in China

China Market Certification Overview

China's certification system is centred on CCC; wireless products additionally require SRRC, and telecom terminals require CTA. Shenzhen is a major global electronics testing centre with dense local resources.

CCC Compulsory Product Certification

China's core product market access system — products within the 23-category catalogue must hold a CCC certificate before they can leave the factory, be sold or be imported.

Certification model

Type testing + initial factory inspection + post-certification supervision (annual surveillance inspection)

Applicable standards

GB 4943.1 (IT/communications safety), GB/T 9254.1 (EMC), GB 31241 (lithium batteries), GB 4706 series (household appliances), GB 47372-2026 (power banks)

Key information

Sample quantity2-5 units (depending on product)
Certification timeline6-10 weeks
Certificate validity5 years (annual surveillance inspection)
ApplicantChina-registered company required (agency service available)
Factory inspectionRequired (initial + annual)
Shenzhen advantage: dense certification and testing resources, direct communication and comparatively short reference timelines.

SRRC Type Approval

State Radio Regulation Committee — any product with a wireless transmitting function must hold an SRRC certificate before it can be sold in China

Applicable standards

MIIT Document No. 129 [2021] (工信部无〔2021〕129号) and its supporting technical specifications. Bluetooth/WiFi 2.4 GHz uses the micro-power short-range radio equipment standard; 5 GHz WiFi uses the wireless access system standard.

Test items

Transmit power, frequency range / occupied bandwidth, spurious emissions, frequency tolerance, receiver spurious emissions

Key information

Sample quantity2-3 units (including frequency-fixed samples)
Certification timeline3-6 weeks (including queueing)
Certificate validity5 years (renewable)
ApplicantMainland China-registered company required
Factory inspectionNot required
Please note: some SRRC spurious emission limits are stricter than FCC/CE limits, so FCC/CE reports cannot be cited directly. Allow sufficient margin in samples and schedule. An SRRC certificate nearing expiry should be renewed by applying within 6 months before the expiry date.

CTA Network Access Licence

China Type Approval — mobile phones, cellular modules, 4G/5G routers and other terminal equipment connecting to the public telecom network must obtain a network access licence (进网许可)

StepContentTimeline
1. SRRCObtain the SRRC type approval certificate first3-6 weeks
2. CCCObtain the CCC certificate (telecom terminal category)6-10 weeks
3. Network access testingComplete network access testing at an MIIT-designated laboratory (RF, protocol, EMC, SAR, etc.)2-4 weeks
4. Network access approvalSubmit test report + CCC/SRRC certificates + company qualifications → MIIT review and issue of the licence2-4 weeks
Applicable products: smartphones, 4G/5G routers, cellular tablets, in-vehicle communication terminals (T-Box), cellular modules, etc. Pure WiFi/Bluetooth products that do not connect to the public network do not require CTA.
