FAQ

What is the difference between ISO 20000 and ITSS?
The two are complementary. ISO 20000 certifies a management system against an international standard; ITSS certifies service capability against a Chinese standard. ITSS grades O&M capability (Level 1/2/3/4), while ISO 20000 looks at the service management system. Many IT companies pursue ITSS and ITSMS together, which is what the "dual standard" refers to.
Can we implement ISO 27001 first and then ISO 20000?
They can be implemented separately, but doing both at the same time is more efficient. The two systems share basic management processes such as document control, internal audit and management review, so combined consulting can save about 20-30% of the total cost.
Is ISO 20000 meaningful for a very small company (under 20 people)?
It depends on the business scenario. If your clients — government bodies or large enterprises in particular — require ITSMS in tenders or contracts, then it is meaningful. A very small company also has fewer audit person-days, so the certification fee is relatively lower. We would suggest confirming that a clear client requirement exists before you start.
