Frequently Asked Questions

How does G-Mark relate to the national certifications?
G-Mark is the GSO unified safety certification and covers the safety requirements of all seven GCC states. Radio approval and energy-efficiency certification, however, are required independently by each country. G-Mark covers safety, but national radio approval is still needed.
Does Saudi Arabia need extra certification within the GCC?
Yes. Although Saudi Arabia is a GCC member state, on top of G-Mark it also requires SABER product certification plus CST radio certification. Saudi requirements are relatively strict within the GCC.
What is the recommended path for Bluetooth/WiFi products entering the Gulf?
Recommended path: CE-RED testing first → G-Mark application → radio approval country by country for the export markets → SABER + CST additionally for Saudi Arabia. The CE-RED report can be reused substantially, saving cost and time.
