Every regulated product must hold a certificate issued through the SABER platform before it can enter the Saudi market

SABER Certification Process

Every product is registered on the saber.sa platform, in two steps: a product certificate and shipment certificates

Applied for before each shipment is dispatched, linked to the Product CoC

Goods are released by customs against the Shipment CoC

CB/CE reports can shorten the path: Saudi Arabia accepts IECEE CB certificates, and a valid CB report can shorten the Product CoC timeline to 1-2 weeks. Obtaining a CB or CE report before starting SABER is recommended.

FAQ

How do SABER and SASO relate to each other?

SASO is the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, which writes the standards. SABER is the online certification platform through which all regulated products apply. In short, one sets the standards and the other is the platform where certification is executed.

Can a CB/CE report shorten SABER?

Yes. Saudi Arabia recognises IECEE CB certificates, and a valid CB report can shorten Product CoC approval to 1-2 weeks. CE reports also carry some reference value, but CB is the more direct route.

Does every shipment need its own Shipment CoC?

Yes. Each consignment exported to Saudi Arabia requires a separate Shipment CoC. The process itself is simple: link a valid Product CoC inside the SABER system and apply.
