China CCC / SRRC Certification Guide

Chinese certification centres on CCC mandatory product certification, with wireless products additionally requiring SRRC type approval. Shenzhen is a global testing and certification hub with abundant resources.

SRRC Type Approval Explained

Test Items

Transmit power, frequency range / occupied bandwidth, spurious emissions, frequency tolerance, receiver spurious emissions, SAR (if applicable)

Note

SRRC testing follows Chinese standards, and some parameters (such as spurious emission limits) may be stricter than FCC/CE. Be sure to allow sufficient time and sample margin.

Key Information

Sample quantity2-3 units (including frequency-fixed samples)
Certification timeline3-6 weeks (testing + approval)
Certificate validity5 years (renewable upon expiry)
ApplicantMust be a company registered in mainland China
Factory auditNot required
RenewalApply within 6 months before expiry, approx. 2-4 weeks

CCC Mandatory Product Certification

Certification model: type test + initial factory inspection + post-certification surveillance. The certificate is valid for 5 years and requires annual surveillance inspection.

FAQs

Must CCC and SRRC both be done? Which first?
If the product has wireless functions (Bluetooth/WiFi etc.), both CCC and SRRC are required and they are independent. We recommend doing SRRC first (its test cycle is relatively fixed) and then progressing CCC in parallel. CCC's EMC testing may require the radio to be switched on, so SRRC first is smoother.
Can a factory outside mainland China do CCC?
Yes. CCC allows overseas factories to apply, but they need a representative applicant in China and must accept cross-border factory inspection by CCC inspectors.
Can an existing CB certificate replace CCC testing?
Not a full replacement, but it can be used for differential testing. GB 4943.1 is essentially consistent with IEC 62368-1, so a CB certificate can reduce around 50% of the test cost and time. However, CCC test reports must be issued by a CNCA-designated laboratory in China.
When will lithium battery CCC take effect?
From August 2023, lithium cells / battery packs were formally included in mandatory CCC (GB 31241). Products containing batteries need extra attention to whether the battery has a CCC certificate. The CCC standard for power banks was upgraded to GB 47372-2026 + GB 31241, with full enforcement of the new version from 1 April 2027.
